Amanda Bennett: Founder
Hi! My name is Amanda Bennett, and I am the founder of Mindful Mentors. I grew up in Orange County, California, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with both my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Master’s degree in Education. I currently live in North County, San Diego.
I am currently working as a private elementary educator, where I offer individualized tutoring services and homeschool pod instruction for elementary students. Through my work, I aim to support the whole child by integrating academic learning with social-emotional development and mindfulness practices that help students build focus, resilience, and emotional awareness.
During my time at UCSB, I became deeply interested in the transformative effects of mindfulness. After beginning my own meditation practice, I quickly noticed meaningful physical and emotional benefits in my daily life. This experience inspired a passion for sharing mindfulness with others—especially young students. I began to wonder why mindfulness wasn’t more widely incorporated into traditional school settings, which ultimately led me to create Mindful Mentors.
Through this program, I coordinate and support groups of dedicated volunteers who lead mindfulness lessons in elementary school classrooms, helping students develop lifelong tools for emotional regulation and self-awareness.

When I’m not teaching or organizing lessons, you can find me crafting, practicing yoga, baking, or enjoying the beach with a good book or journal.
